Central Food Retail and UNICEF raise funds to aids children in Thailand


Central Food Retail Co., Ltd. and UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, launched the 2008 edition of 'Make a Wish for Kids' project, which raises funds to help underprivileged children in Thailand. The project is centred on the sale of fabric bags and notebook as a gift for the season of giving. They have been especially designed by the well-known Thai artist, ML Chiratorn Chirapravati.

"Central Food Retail, a business unit under Central Group of Companies, is committed in giving good things and returning to society in serveral ways, and Make a Wish for Kids is one of them," said

"It is an opportunity for us to help children in need in our country."

"Last year, the project succeeded in raising a huge fund. It receives positive feedback from the public every year, and I'm happy to say that ML Chiratorn Chirapravati will continue to help us as a project's artist for Make a Wish for Kids in 2008.

This is the seventh consecutive year in which we've joined in a project with UNICEF project, and we're certain we'll have another success in 2008."

"It's been almost 60 years of Unicef's operation in Thailand," said Mr. Tomoo Hozumi, UNICEF representative for Thailand.

"Our mission is to help disadvantaged children to stand on their own with integrity, and our work includes dealing with child abuse, promoting education and quality living, helping children affected by natural disasters and AIDS, and educating young people on preventing the spread of HIV."

"To fullfil every one of our designated goals, a collaboration with Central Food Retail means that we'll have an alternative funding opportunity. It is an excellent example of the contribution that the private sector can make to society."

The products of Make a Wish for Kids 2008, all from exclusive designs by ML Chiratorn Chirapravati, are fabric bags that sell for 99 Baht and stylish notebooks at 139 Baht. After expenses all the proceeds from sales will go to UNICEF. Special for this year, the project has received a well cooperated by couple artists, Kalamer-Pachrasri Benchamas and DJ PK- Piyawat Khempimuk as presenter to promote the project.

Make a Wish for Kids 2008 products make delightful gifts and they're available at Central Food Hall, Tops Market, Tops Super and Tops Daily outlets nationwide from today to March 31, 2008.
