Jing Jai Farmers’ Market

Fruit, vegetables and provincial goods from farmers to consumers

Jing Jai Farmers’ Market is another way in which we provide an opportunity for local farmers to merchandise their output, selling their fruit and vegetables along with other provincial goods in areas with Central retail outlets.

This allows both consumers and farmers to meet and discuss their thoughts, with new ideas utilized to improve product development. High-quality food and products are in this way supplied to consumers, and a stable income is provided for the farmers. In other words, this project contributes good health for consumers and stimulates income among the communities.

Job creation is part of the development and improvement of Thai farmers’ living standards. During 2019, 14 Jing Jai Farmers’ Market outlets were opened. We recorded 2,514 farmers in 278 districts taking part, earning total revenues of 84 million baht. We aim to expand these markets to other provinces throughout the country.

In addition, with awareness of environmental issues especially the problem of waste plastic bags, the project has stopped handling out plastic bags to the customers and using containers from natural materials instead of plastic bags. Fruit and vegetable products will be put in paper bags. And there is a campaign for customers to bring their own cloth bags as well.
