Central Retail Partners with Krungsri on THB 2 Billion Green Loan, Driving Sustainable Retail and Wholesale Through a Clean Energy Ecosystem Toward Net Zero

Bangkok, 3 December 2025 – Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited or CRC is committed to driving its business under the vision “Retail and Wholesale for All,” building an organisation that grows sustainably alongside people, communities, and the environment, while continuously making tangible progress on its journey toward achieving Net Zero. In October, the company issued its first Green Bond, in the Thai retail-wholesale sector, valued at THB 1 billion, which received an overwhelming response from institutional investors. Building on the success of the Green Bond, Central Retail has partnered with Krungsri to secure an additional THB 2 billion in Green Loan, aimed at amplifying environmental impact and strengthening the company’s capabilities as a fully green retail and wholesale organisation.

We have continuously strengthened our Green Finance initiatives to drive positive environmental impact and enhance long-term operational efficiency. This THB 2 billion Green Loan is part of our sustainability portfolio, building on the success of our Green Bond issuance. The funds will be used to expand clean energy and carbon reduction projects, focusing on increasing solar panel installations, scaling up the use of electric trucks and motorcycles (EV transportation) across distribution centres for both short- and long-haul deliveries, as well as implementing energy-efficient refrigeration systems and smart solar streetlights. These initiatives are expected to reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 324,552 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year and reinforce Central Retail’s leadership in driving sustainable growth across all dimensions of the retail-wholesale sector.”
Throughout its journey toward Net Zero, Central Retail has continuously implemented initiatives under its ReNEW strategy, covering all environmental dimensions and delivering tangible positive impact. As of 31 December 2024, key achievements include:
- Installation of solar panels on the rooftops of more than 160 malls, buildings, and warehouses across Thailand and Vietnam, reducing carbon emissions by 86,612 tons per year
- Deployment of 76 electric trucks and motorcycles across distribution centres and delivery operations, cutting diesel consumption by more than 661,806 litres per year and reducing an additional 1,740 metric tons of carbon annually
- Implementation of energy-efficient refrigeration systems across TOPS and GO WHOLESALE stores, with more than 2,163 units installed, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 8,741 tons per year
Mr. Prakob Phiencharoen, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Group at Krungsri said “Krungsri is delighted to be part of this significant milestone and to continue fostering collaboration with Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited as a strong partner in driving sustainable finance through our support of this Green Loan.
