CRC, represented by Chief People Officer Panchalee Weeratammawat, Wethisa Kanjanakaew Head of Resourcing & Talent Acquisition and Suwanna Panyawongudom Head of CRC Recruitment & Sourcing, received excellence award for HR Innovation Award 2022 from 4 institutions which are Personnel Management Association of Thailand (PMAT), Institute of HR Professional Development (IHPD), Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI) and Human Resource Development Faculty from National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA). This award signifies Central Retail’s commitment on strengthening and improving creativity with the adaptation of new technologies in recruitment. One of the most effective ways of developing people is by driving the organisation to keep pace with the changes in response to the labor market during the unfolding of the digital age. Being led by the core value in the innovation aspect that strives to strengthen business, Central Retail continues to develop knowledge and enhance creativity in every way as the retailer of the future built for sustainable growth.
Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited (CRC) has received the ASEAN Asset Class PLCs Award from the 2021 ASEAN CG Scorecard Project as the listed company that obtained the score at least 97.50 points. CRC is one of 76 Thai listed companies winning this award among 234 companies in ASEAN countries e.g. Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
The project is sponsored by the ASEAN Capital Market Forum (ACMF) in collaboration with capital market regulators in ASEAN jurisdictions with the aim to elevate the quality of business supervision of the listed companies in ASEAN to meet international standards. This award has proven Central Retail's potential in excellent management and recognized Central Retail as a Listed Company with good governance.

Asian Excellence Awards 2022 is organized by Corporate Governance Asia, the leading economic and corporate governance magazine based in Hong Kong, to seek and select companies from all around Asia and award those with excellence in management and finance, consistent business growth, positive relationships with investors, creative corporate communications, and sustainability. This year marked the 12th event of Asian Excellence Awards.

Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited or CRC, represented by Head of HR Shared Services Suwanich Patmayothin, received excellent award for being organization which supported disability people for 3 consecutive years from Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
This is one of the awards that shows Central Retail’s commitment on the disability employment. Central Retail has employed the disability 412 people as we intend to decrease inequality and leverage all employees’ skill. Central Retail will continue to do business with social-minded and promote diversity following the purpose-led to become Thailand’s first Green & Sustainable Retail, model organisation for sustainability.

The company received the “Kincentric Best Employer Thailand 2022 Award” for the fourth consecutive year and the “Kincentric Best Employer Hall of Fame 2022 Award” for organisations given a Best Employer Award for three consecutive years. Chakkit Chatupanyachotikul, Head of Marketing, Public Relations & CSV of Central Food Retail under Central Retail, represented the company in receiving a Platinum Status in AMCHAM Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Recognition Award 2022, presented by Ambassador Robert F. Godec, U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, and Jeffrey Nygaard, AMCHAM President. Tops, The #1 food retailer in Thailand, received this award for the 12th consecutive year from the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM).
This reflects Tops’ commitment in driving sustainable business growth while elevating the quality of life for our society, community, and environment, through its Creating Shared Value philosophy which creates a long-term positive impact on food, environment, community development, and social improvement such as Jing Jai Farmers’ Market, a market that sells organic fruits and vegetables and local goods, which has been successful and well-received by both consumers and participating farmers. The project has tripled income for their families and improved the quality of life for farmers. This helps strengthen farmers nationwide as currently there are 33 locations in 29 provinces, driving the local economy and generating jobs for more than 9,696 households

Prime Minster Prayut Chan-o-cha took part in awarding Thailand’s leading organisations with a proven track record in management in the specified category, supporting the potential businesses that play a part in powering the sustainable growth of Thailand’s economy.

Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited or CRC won at an international stage the Best Environmental Excellence Award from The Global CSR & ESG Awards 2022, organized by The Pinnacle Group International, Singapore. The awardees are selected from companies worldwide with excellence in environmental initiatives, whereby Central Retail was recognized and praised as a model organization for sustainability, with CRC Green & Sustainable Retail concept, the first ever in Asia.

Throughout the years of business operation, Central Retail has dedicatedly initiated and continually carried on numbers of environmental and sustainability projects. One of the extensively accomplished projects leading to receiving the Global CSR & ESG Awards 2022 is ‘Journey to Zero: A Circular System to End Food Waste’, a key project focusing on food waste management throughout its entire life cycle, beginning on Samui Island to Suratthani. A Circular Economy strategy has been adopted to promote waste segregation at source and optimizing existing resources to ensure minimal waste to landfill through recycling and upcycling. Biogas, byproduct of the composting process, is replacing LPG, reducing the cost of gas at International College of Tourism, Suratthani Rajabhat University by over 40%. Fertilizer, another byproduct from food waste, is used to support organic farming, which helps saving cost and generating income from selling vegetables and fruits under ‘Farm Chao Koh’ brand of the Samui Island community. These solutions are in line with Central Retail’s goal to reduce 30% of food waste by 2030. In 2022, the execution of Journey to Zero project has lessened over 25 tons of organic waste per year (as of August 2022). Central Retail aims to elevate the success of Journey to Zero project by continuing the model in other top tourist destinations including Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, and Bangkok, constantly pushing for positive and sustainable changes to the environment, encouraging sustainable behavior in customers and employees, and creating shared values among local member of the public and partners countrywide.
The Global CSR & ESG Awards 2022 is a highly regarded award for social activities, celebrating organizations that demonstrate innovative excellence or consistent social responsibility projects. This aligned with Central Retail’s vision to sustainably grow business in all aspects including environmental and social development projects to advocate self-reliance. “Central Retail is ready to collaborate with all sectors; staffs, stakeholders, local governmental authorities, and partners, to take care of the community and the environment, building on current sustainable projects as well as passing on this sustainability mission to future management members to create a promising future for the generations to come.” concluded Mr. Yol.
Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited or CRC received corporate governance assessment with 5 stars level or “Excellent” for two consecutive years, getting average score 96%, while last year got average score at 94%, from Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies 2022 : CGR and Thai Institute of Directors : IOD which endorsed by Stock Exchange of Thailand : SET. In 2022, it has 750 listed companies joining this assessment and getting average score at 85% (highest score since assessment in 2001)
Furthermore, Central Retail has listed in Top Quartile of listed company having market capital more than 10,000 million baht from above assessment.
