Bangkok, 5 November 2026 — Robinson, under Central Retail, has unveiled an investment plan in 2027 worth THB 4.094 billion to develop a “Complete Retail Ecosystem”, combining a more closely integrated the shopping mall and department store experience with two new retail models, “Ploen” and “Riva”. The strategy pairs a refreshed Robinson identity and store expansion with models tailored to different lifestyles and local markets. Ploen will focus on everyday convenience and community experiences, while Riva will combine shopping, leisure and wellness. All models are scheduled to launch by 2028.
Lertvit Pumipitak, Chief Executive Officer of Central Retail Property, under Central Retail, said: “Our approach starts with a question: how can shopping centers and department stores become part of people’s lives? Robinson pioneered department stores and shopping centers in provincial Thailand and has grown into 46 locations across 38 provinces. Today, we have more than 1 million sq.m. of leasing space, welcome more than 350,000 visitors a day and maintain a tenant retention rate above 90%, while supporting up to 40,000 jobs. These figures reflect the strength of our business and the trust we have built with customers, tenants and partners. Our purpose is to be ‘Central to Life’, responding to the needs of customers in each community in line with Central Retail’s vision.”
“Our teams bring together expertise in shopping center development and department store management, using consumer insights to strengthen a portfolio that spans Robinson Lifestyle Malls, Robinson Department Stores and Tops Plaza and. Consumers are better informed, have higher expectations and are constantly looking for a new lifestyle. Every visit needs to deliver convenience and experiences that justify their time. Our goal is to become customer’s top-of-mind destination. Our ambition to build a ‘Complete Retail Ecosystem’ is rooted in the belief that different models are connected by people’s lives. By creating a seamless connection between Robinson’ lifestyle malls and department store spaces, and introducing Ploen and Riva, we can respond more precisely to each market while creating mutual growth for partners, tenants and local economies.”
Six destinations and one integrated Robinson experience
Robinson is refreshing its logo and brand identity while bringing its lifestyle mall and department store spaces seamlessly together under “6 Destinations & 1 Integrated Experience”. A stronger merchandise mix will support six areas of everyday life. Food Destination will bring together family restaurants, cafés, Food Haven food courts, supermarkets and outdoor markets. Fashion Destination will position Robinson as the best fashion landmark in town, combining leading labels with popular online brands. Home Living & Tech Destination will offer completed solutions for modern homes and lifestyles, while Health & Wellness Destination will cover beauty, health and wellbeing for longevity trend. Kids & Education Destination will provide learning, development, and after school activities for children and families, and lastly Entertainment Destination, with ‘A Fun Day for All’ concept, will bring together cinemas, fitness and leisure activities.
The six destinations will form one integrated experience through the ambience, events, festivals, community activities and services across each location. Robinson Samut Prakan mall demonstrates this approach. An investment of more than THB 500 million has revitalized both the shopping center and department store and expanded the retail offering to more than 250 brands, helping drive a 30% increase in traffic.
Robinson is also exploring “Future Retail Experience” through humanoid robotics and AI, opening its spaces as a living lab for innovation. The aim is to enhance services and introduce new ways for customers to interact with technology, bringing digital innovation into the retail space to support ever-changing lifestyles.
Eleven locations were renovated in 2025–2026, with each location drawing on local market strengths and customer insights. Robinson Kanchanaburi adopted the “KAN FEEL GOOOOOOOOD” concept to become a destination that lifts people’s mood every day, while Robinson Saraburi introduced “Energize the Heart of Saraburi”, with new zoning, a broader retail offer and improved facilities for residents and travelers. Robinson Samut Prakan, next to the Phraek Sa BTS station, is the latest example of the integrated experience concept. Seven more Robinson locations including Roi Et, Buri Ram, Phetchaburi, Ratchaphruek, Prachin Buri, Sakon Nakhon and Phayao, are due for renovation in 2027, followed by a further 12 in 2028–2029.
Robinson Nong Khai is another key investment, with a project value exceeding THB 2 billion. Scheduled to open in Q3 2027, the development will occupy 33 rai and bring together more than 300 brands. Its strategic location along the Thailand–Laos–China corridor offers opportunities linked to industry and tourism, serving both local shoppers and cross-border visitors. Construction is nearly 40% complete. Robinson also plans to add one new location in each of 2028 and 2029, extending its reach into high-potential markets nationwide.
“Ploen” puts “Community-Centric Development" at the heart of a new retail model with 7 locations by 2029
“Ploen” will introduce a community mall format built around local insights and everyday needs. Guided by “Community-Centric Development” and the concept “From Everyday Essentials to Everyday Experiences”, it will combine convenience with experiences that encourage frequent visits. A Tops supermarket will serve as a key anchor, supported by favorite restaurant brands, the biggest ready-to-eat food market in catchment and a wide range of services. Events, happening activities and EV charging service station are included. Plans for Co-Creation space will be added to the offer. Location criteria will focus on residential catchments, land with room for expansion and phased development that can evolve with the community.
The first project, Ploen Rangsit, is scheduled to open in Q3 2027, with access from Rangsit–Nakhon Nayok Road and the Outer Ring Road. The surrounding catchment has more than 879,000 residents and average monthly household income of approximately 39,646 baht. The community mall will initially occupy 24 rai within a masterplan covering more than 322 rai. With a stated project value of THB 1.5 billion, the development will have 16,000 sq.m. of GFA and more than 70 shops covering health and wellness, IT, specialist retail and services, alongside Tops supermarket and Sunday Playland.
Dining will be a major draw, with more than 220 market stalls and over 30 dine-in restaurants, including buffets, popular dining concepts and a 24-hour food zone. The mix will bring together established brands, trending restaurants and local favorites, making Ploen a dining destination for everyday meals, late-night visits and socialize activities.
Ploen Rangsit also plans to add Co-Creation spaces, including an activity plaza, a plant market and a running area, linking shopping with leisure and active lifestyles. The aim is to create a place residents can visit frequently, while giving brands and local businesses access to customers in the neighborhood. Robinson plans to add three Ploen locations in each of 2028 and 2029, bringing the locations to seven by 2029.
“Riva” redefines shopping, leisure, and wellness with a “Recreation-Led Retail Destination”. The first location, Riva Ramkhamhaeng, is scheduled to open in 2028
“Riva” will introduce a “Recreation-Led Retail Destination” under the concept “From Shopping to Leisure Living”. The format will combine nature, dining, recreation, wellness and community, creating a destination for discovery and quality time together. Distinctive architecture and landscaping, leisure spaces and activities will complement everyday convenience, emerging brands and new experiences, with an offer tailored to the lifestyles and spending power of the surrounding catchment.
Dining will be a key attraction, bringing together iconic local favorites, well-known Thai brands and emerging food concepts, with culinary storytelling offering a passport to new places and experiences. Riva also aims to become a longevity destination, connecting physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing with lifestyle activities. Under “Every Brand, A Destination”, story-driven concept stores will enable brands to express their identities through distinctive experiences, making individual stores destinations in their own story.
The first project, Riva Ramkhamhaeng, is scheduled to open in Q1 2028. Positioned as a “Future Gateway of East Bangkok”, it will occupy 24 rai, with a project value exceeding THB 2.5 billion. The development will have 54,000 sq.m. of GBA, 21,000 sq.m. of GLA and more than 200 shops. Its concept centers on finding the extraordinary in everyday life, fostering a sense of belonging and creating meaningful shared experiences. Robinson plans to open one additional Riva in each of 2029 and 2030, bringing the total to three by 2030.
Sustainable growth with a positive impact on business, social, and environmental
Alongside portfolio expansion, Robinson is placing sustainability at the center of its growth strategy, connecting business, social and environmental priorities to create a positive impact for customers, tenants and communities across its operating locations. Environmental initiatives support Central Retail’s net-zero ambitions across three areas. Clean energy and energy efficiency measures include rooftop solar installed at 25 locations since 2017, with reported cumulative emissions reductions of 163,238.50 tonnes of CO₂, equivalent to the carbon absorption of more than 18,137,612 trees. An AI Chiller Plant Management system uses IoT and AI to manage air conditioning in real time. Resource efficiency measures include reusing treated water, separating waste, recycling and upcycling, while support for sustainable lifestyles includes 30 EV charging points and additional tree planting and green space.
Robinson’s community work has also been recognized at its Lop Buri and Chaiyaphum mall branches, which received the 2026 provincial awards for outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR Award 2026) from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Lop Buri has used the shopping center as a platform for local businesses, while supporting community infrastructure and activities. Chaiyaphum has worked with the “Central Tham” initiative to support Hass avocado growers in Thep Sathit district, helping generate income and develop a model low-carbon farming community.
“Our next step is to bring the strengths of all three models together to set a new standard for Thai retail,” Mr Lertvit said. “We must be willing to think boldly, embrace change and create experiences that keep pace with people’s expectations. Every location should open up opportunities for our partners and tenants, enrich customers’ lives and strengthen the local economy. We want our ‘Complete Retail Ecosystem’ to connect businesses, people and cities, because our success must drive growth and create opportunities for everyone involved.”
