Central Retail invests 500 million baht to open a new branch of Thai Watsadu in Chaiyaphum Province

  • Spanning over an area of 19,000 sqm, the 61st branch is expected to meet the rising demand in the real estate sector in northeastern provinces
  • The purchasing power of customers in the hardline segment is starting to rebound in response to a gradual recovery in overall demand

Bangkok – March 16, 2022 – Central Retail Corporation Public Company Limited (CRC) continues to expand its business with the recent investment of 500 million baht at the beginning of 2022 to open the Thai Watsadu Chaiyaphum Branch. Being operated by CRC Thai Watsadu Company Limited, which is a subsidiary of CRC, the new mega home product mall is located on a strategic and high potential location occupying an area of more than 19,000 square meters.

The addition of new branch is expected to meet growing demand in the real estate market in the northeastern provinces. The upward trend is a result of the purchasing power in the hardline segment starting to return in response to a gradual recovery in overall business demand. The company projects to generate 15% sales growth this year.

“Following the success that we have had in the past 12 years with 60 branches of Thai Watsadu already opened across the country, the opening of the 61st branch, or Chaiyaphum Branch, suggests the economic potential and strength of Chaiyaphum Province as part of the burgeoning Northeastern region,” said Suthisarn Chirathivat, CEO of CRC Thai Watsadu Limited under Central Retail.

With an investment of more than 500 million baht, the new Thai Watsadu branch targets existing customers who have a demand for home renovation, repair work, or building a new one as well as contractors. It is positioned as a mega home product mall that provides "a complete assortment of competitively priced and high-quality home products under one roof" to Thai people.

The company will also continue to employ the omnichannel strategy that makes a variety of products and services more accessible to customers. This is designed to meet the changing needs of consumers and be relevant to the growing real estate and construction market within the province and nearby areas.

The Thai Watsadu Chaiyaphum Branch, which is in Mueang Chaiyaphum District on the No. 201 highway, has an area of 19,000 square meters. There are more than 170,000 households within a 30-kilometer radius in which the average household income is relatively high. Sit close to the city center and shopping centers and engulfed by highly populated local communities, the new location is therefore considered a strategic presence and has a high potential.

The Thai Watsadu Chaiyaphum Branch continues to deliver added value and convenience in shopping to customers. It offers a complete variety of home products including building materials, home electronics, hardware items, hand and mechanical tools, tiles, bathroom collections, kitchen furniture and equipment, and home decorations from leading brands.

In addition, the vFix home solution is also available with the help of a team of experienced technicians who are ready to provide answers to all questions about home, from repair works, installations, additions, renovations, along with a variety of sales channels both online and offline that reinforces the concept of "Complete, Affordable, and Good at Thai Watsadu," plus convenient – anywhere, anytime – access to products and services.

“Not only does deliver quality home products and services to Chaiyaphum residents, but the recent expansion of Thai Watsadu also creates jobs and generates income for local people. This can be part of the overall economic stimulation of the country and reinforces its leadership in Thai hardline business. The company expects to generate satisfactory sales growth as planned.”

“The country’s overall hardline building materials industry in early 2022 showed signs of the recovery because of the government's economic stimulus and the reopening of the tourism sector as well as a higher rate of vaccination that results in increased economic activities. Although the overall situation in 2022 is still challenging, a good sign is that the hardline building materials sector is likely to recover approximately 15% in line with the improving economy. It is also expected that the overall business sector will regain its strength in the second half of this year.”

“As a result, CRC Thai Watsadu is prepared to respond to the expansion of real estate and construction industries that defy economic trends and enhancement of stable business strength. In 2022, the company plans to open ten new branches to serve all of Thailand, reaffirming its leadership in the hardline market,” concluded Suthisarn.
