Carbon Neutral Events
Central Retail places strong importance on organizing environmentally conscious events and taking responsibility for greenhouse gas emissions. Central Retail is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its events while promoting the efficient use of resources and supporting sustainable development. This is achieved through carbon offset initiatives by procuring carbon credits from greenhouse gas reduction projects in Thailand to offset emissions generated from event activities, with the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from its events.
In 2025, Central Retail implemented carbon offset initiatives for key events, including “Jingjai Maha...Nakhon 12th,” held under the concept “Jingjai Klang Krung: From Roots to Radiance” from July 9–13, 2025, at centralwOrld. The event connected urban consumers with farmers and community producers from across Thailand, featuring more than 1,000 products from 50 communities across 47 provinces. It also elevated its event management to a fully Carbon Neutral Event by using recycled materials, reducing carbon emissions, and implementing systematic waste management. In addition, a portion of the proceeds was used to support the purchase of seedlings for forest restoration under the Plant Together project, helping create a sustainable balance across the economic, social, and environmental dimensions. The event offset a total of 857 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.

In addition, Central Retail implemented carbon offsetting for the press conference launching the “Love the Earth: Zero Waste” campaign, which aims to promote a comprehensive waste management system, from waste reduction and segregation at source to proper waste treatment. The initiative was piloted at centralwOrld, with more than 200 stores participating, covering fashion, food, and beverage businesses. The initiative promotes efficient resource utilization, supports the circular economy, and reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills. The event offset a total of 7 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.

Another key activity was the “CENTRAL GROUP Mini Marathon 17th by Skechers” an annual charity walk-and-run event held for the 17th consecutive year. Proceeds from ticket sales, without deduction of expenses, were donated to the “Central Group Women Cancer - Chuan Tham Dee Chuay Phu Puai Mareng Satree 20th” project to support the purchase of medical equipment for Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The initiative aims to enhance opportunities for timely diagnosis and treatment for women with cancer. The event offset a total of 193 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.

Through these three initiatives, Central Retail offset a total of 1,057 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, reflecting its commitment to elevating event management to be more environmentally responsible while creating positive economic and social value for communities and stakeholders. These efforts reinforce Central Retail’s commitment to sustainable business practices and to creating positive impacts through every activity it undertakes. Central Retail remains committed to continuously developing environmentally friendly event management practices and supporting the transition toward a low-carbon society.
