Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day: Central Retail Vietnam Kicks off the “Proud of Vietnamese Specialty” Festival

Hanoi, 21 August 2025 - Central Retail Vietnam inaugurated the Proud of Vietnamese Specialty Festival 2025 at GO! Thang Long, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, as well as a large number of Hanoi residents. This marks the second time the event has been organised in celebration of Vietnam’s National Day (2 September 1945 – 2 September 2025), with the aim of promoting and honoring 160 regional specialties. The festival offers consumers a diverse shopping experience featuring specialty products while instilling greater pride in Vietnam’s heritage, culture, and people.

At the opening ceremony, a MOU Signing Ceremony was held between Central Retail and six key suppliers including Cooperatives, Farming households, and enterprises in agriculture and food to officially launch the GO! Viet Farm Private Label product line. This activity underscores the commitment of GO! and Central Retail Vietnam to expanding market access for Vietnamese agricultural products and advancing value chain development across the sector.

In addition, Central Retail Vietnam officially launched three new Private Label product categories: Collection - a limited fashion line under the theme “Independence – Freedom - Happiness”, honoring the national spirit and traditional beauty in Vietnamese products. GO! Viet Farm – new line of fresh, safe and high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products. Viet Gems - regional specialty products certified under the OCOP (One Commune One Product) program with three stars or higher.

On this occasion, Central Retail Vietnam also introduced three new projects under 2024 - 2025 “Livelihood For Community Project”, including the Da Bac Project (Hoa Binh Province), the Tan Hoa Thanh Project (Tien Giang Province), and the Dai Minh Project (Yen Bai in Province). These community livelihood initiatives are expected to help improve the lives of hundreds of farming households in disadvantaged regions.

Mr. Jose Mestre, Commercial director Fresh Food and F&B of Central Retail Vietnam, shared that MOU Signing Ceremony and new product launches on this occasion are the result of Central Retail Vietnam and the GO!’s efforts to accompany and support Vietnam’s agricultural sector through the ‘Farm to Fork’ program; assisting farmers and Cooperatives with logistics via Central Retail’s nationwide distribution centers; and implementing initiatives on food hygiene and safety.

“We hope that, during the 80th Vietnam’s National Day celebration, consumers across the country when visiting and shopping at GO!, Tops Market, and go! will enjoy an engaging shopping experience at the Proud of Vietnamese Specialty Festival 2025. We encourage strong support for regional specialties, Livelihood for Community products, and our new Private Label brand hereby reinforcing the quality and brand reputation of Vietnamese products within the modern retail network”, Mr. Jose Mestre emphasised.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director General, Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade, shared: “In recent years, ministries, agencies, and local authorities, including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, have always given priority to developing the domestic market. Numerous policies have been introduced to support and encourage the growth of agricultural products, while enabling people and small- and medium-sized enterprises to improve quality and build product brands.”

“The support of distribution systems such as Central Retail Vietnam plays a crucial role in bringing regional specialties closer to consumers, while contributing to building the brand of Vietnamese agricultural products not only in the domestic market but also internationally.
