Hong Kong, 4 September 2025 - Central Retail Vietnam has been honored Produce Retailer of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Asia Fruit Awards, marking the company’s first win at this annual event.

Jointly organised by Asia Fruit Logistica and Asiafruit Magazine, the Asia Fruit Awards recognise outstanding achievements and contributions to Asia’s fresh produce sector. The award ceremony took place on 4 September 2025 in Hong Kong, alongside the international Asia Fruit Logistica trade show.

The recognition highlights Central Retail’s efforts to provide Vietnamese consumers with fresh, high-quality, and food-safe produce through its sustainable sourcing and supply chain development programs.

“Today, more than 90% of our products are locally sourced. Each year, Central Retail purchases over 90,000 tons of fresh food and agricultural products from around 1,000 domestic suppliers, helping to enhance the value of Vietnamese produce while creating growth opportunities for local businesses,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Head of Communication of Central Retail Vietnam. “At the same time, we continue to pioneer the direct import of high-quality fruits and expand partnerships with reputable global suppliers, ensuring Vietnamese consumers can enjoy diverse fresh products that meet international standards.”

“Fresh produce is at the heart of our retail business. Being recognised at the Asia Fruit Awards is a proud milestone that reaffirms our commitment to bringing millions of consumers across Vietnam safe, fresh, and diverse food, while connecting Vietnam to world-class sources of supply,” she added.

Shoppers enjoy a wide variety of fresh, safe fruits at GO! hypermarket.

Recently, in Hanoi, Central Retail successfully organised the “Proud of Vietnamese Specialties Festival 2025”, which was attended by leaders from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, and many consumers. At the event, Central Retail signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with six key partners - cooperatives, farmers, and agri-businesses - to launch its private label, GO! Viet Farm. This initiative aims to expand market access for Vietnamese produce while strengthening the sustainable agricultural supply chain. Central Retail also introduced three new Community Livelihood Projects in Da Bac (Phu Tho), Tan Hoa Thanh (Dong Thap), and Dai Minh (Lao Cai), further strengthening its role as a bridge between farmers, businesses, and consumers in building a more prosperous Vietnam.

GO! hypermarkets ensure a wide range of fresh, safe, and traceable fruits.

From a supplier’s perspective, Mr. Tran Trong Tung, Director of Yen Dung Safe Vegetable Cooperative, said: “Partnering with a nationwide retailer like Central Retail gives us confidence in market access. Beyond stable sales, they work with us from the ground up - guiding us on cultivation improvements, applying QR codes for traceability, offering technical training, upgrading to transparent VietGAP standards, and distributing our produce across modern supermarkets nationwide. Just last year, all 540 tons of cucumbers we produced were sold through GO!. This August, we were proud to become an official supplier for GO! Viet Farm, marking a milestone that proves Bac Giang’s clean produce has truly expanded its reach.”

Central Retail’s sourcing staff consistently support and work alongside local farmers.

Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director General of Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development, MOIT, emphasised: “Over the years, ministries, agencies, and localities, especially MOIT, have prioritised domestic market development through supportive policies for agricultural products and brand building. The support of distribution systems like Central Retail Vietnam plays a vital role in bringing regional specialties closer to consumers, building strong Vietnamese agricultural brands both domestically and internationally. This not only improves community livelihoods but also introduces Vietnam’s finest produce to the world.”

“Produce Retailer of the Year 2025” brings consumers high-quality fruits at affordable prices.

With recognition from MOIT, partners, and consumers, Central Retail Vietnam is proud to receive the Produce Retailer of the Year 2025 award. This milestone reflects the company’s dedication to delivering fresh, safe, and diverse produce to millions of Vietnamese consumers, while deepening Vietnam’s connection with global markets.
