Central Retail Vietnam Launches Five Livelihood for Community Projects for 2026

Hanoi, 23 July 2026 - Central Retail Vietnam officially launched five new Livelihood for Community projects for 2026 at GO! Thang Long. The launch ceremony was attended by Deputy Director of Lao Cai Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Retailers Association, members of Livelihood for Community Steering Committee and Central Retail Vietnam’s leadership team.

The projects will be granted to five cooperatives in rural areas in Phu Tho, Lao Cai and Dak Lak Provinces, including Quyet Chien Cooperative (fresh vegetables), Mo Duc Organic Agriculture Cooperative (stuffed snail sausage), V-Organic Organic Agriculture Cooperative (fresh vegetables), Krong Ana Mushroom and Agricultural Services Cooperative (mushrooms), and Giap Hau Glass Noodle Cooperative (glass noodles).

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mrs. Dinh Thi My Loan, Member of Livelihood for Community Steering Committee, said: "Today's launch marks another meaningful milestone in our journey to support local communities and foster sustainable livelihoods. Over the years, the Livelihood for Community Programme has demonstrated its positive impact by creating new opportunities for farming households, strengthening local communities and improving quality of life in the project areas.”

“The achievements we celebrate today reflect the long-term commitment of Central Retail Vietnam, together with the invaluable support of local authorities, partners and farming communities. Through our continued collaboration, we are confident that the programme will deliver even greater economic, social and environmental value, contributing to stronger local economies and more sustainable livelihoods for communities across Vietnam," she added.

Mr. Olivier Langlet, Group CEO of Central Retail Vietnam, shared: "The Livelihood for Community Programme remains one of Central Retail Vietnam's flagship sustainability initiatives and reflects our long-term commitment to supporting local farming communities. The progress achieved in 2025 has been particularly encouraging, with more than 229 tonnes of products sourced, generating over VND 7 billion in sales - an increase of nearly 60% year on year in both volume and value.

Today, we are launching five additional livelihood projects, bringing the total number of active projects to ten and extending support to 291 farming households. This is a milestone we are immensely proud of, and we are honoured to continue this journey alongside our farmers and partners."

Mr. Lam Tuan Khanh, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre of Lao Cai Province, said: "I am impressed by Livelihood for Community Programme. It is a long-term initiative that empowers local people to build sustainable livelihoods, rather than providing only short-term support. We are committed to working closely with Central Retail Vietnam to connect businesses and cooperatives, promote OCOP products, strengthen trade promotion efforts, and bring local agricultural products into modern retail channels."

During the event, Central Retail Vietnam also recognised new supplier partners for their contributions to the success of 2026 Livelihood for Community Programme.

As part of the programme, members of Steering Commitee and representatives from the media visited Dai Minh pomelo project in Yen Bai Ward, Lao Cai Province - one of the programme's ten active livelihood projects. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange technical expertise and practical solutions to improve productivity and product quality, enabling local produce to better meet the requirements of the modern retail market.

To date, Central Retail Vietnam has successfully granted 10 Livelihood for Community projects. Among them, the projects in Tan Hoa Thanh – Dong Thap Province (formerly Tien Giang Province), the partnership with supplier Dinh Thi Nga in Quang Ngai Province, and the newly launched Mo Duc – Phu Tho project have recorded encouraging sales growth.

The programme continued to expand in April 2026, enabling the newly established V-Organic project to deliver its first shipment to GO! Thang Long, featuring ready-to-cook chayote shoots as its flagship product.

According to Central Retail Vietnam's Fresh Food Commercial team, during the first six months of 2026, the Livelihood for Community Programme sourced 101 tonnes of agricultural products worth more than VND 1.684 billion, helping create sustainable livelihood opportunities for 291 farming households.
